About the Role
As an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing fire protection systems for diverse clients. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits, audits, and feasibility assessments tailored to client needs
- Design fire detection and suppression systems such as FM200, Novec 1230, Inergen, or CO₂
- Ensure compliance with SANS and international codes and standards
- Prepare technical documentation, proposals, and cost estimates
- Work closely with CAD designers, technicians, and project managers
- Engage with clients and deliver professional presentations and technical advice
- Keep up to date with industry trends and fire safety technologies
- Support and mentor junior staff through collaboration and training
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering
- 2–10 years’ experience in engineering design and systems implementation
- Proficiency in CAD software and MS Office (especially Excel)
- Valid Driver’s License with a willingness to travel
- Advantageous: Familiarity with SANS fire protection codes
- Advantageous: Understanding of HVAC systems, BMS, BACnet, or Modbus
- Advantageous: SAQCC, ECSA, or PSIRA registration
