About the Role
The SHEQ Practitioner will play a key role in implementing effective risk management and ensuring full compliance with SHEQ standards. You’ll support the company’s Responsible Care principles, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvements towards achieving a zero-harm environment. This position also involves leading incident investigations, facilitating risk assessments, and maintaining ISO management systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications.

Skills & Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) plus a relevant tertiary qualification in Safety, Environmental Science, or Engineering
- ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 qualification with auditing experience
- 5–8 years’ experience in a chemical manufacturing setting
- Strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations
- Process safety knowledge (advantageous)
- Excellent report writing, data analysis, and facilitation skills
- Must be computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and Syspro
- Valid driver’s license and own transport
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct SHE inductions for staff, visitors, and contractors
- Monitor implementation of safe work procedures
- Ensure timely servicing of emergency and firefighting equipment
- Track SHEQ statistics such as incidents, audits, and resource usage
- Develop and implement SHEQ training and awareness material
- Coordinate internal and external audits
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
- Review contractor SHEQ files and support compliance reviews
- Maintain SHEQ systems and documentation according to ISO standards
