About the Role
As a Maintenance Fitter at AECI Plant Health, your main role will be to keep plant and production equipment in top working condition. You’ll respond to daily breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and carry out installations and repairs across various plant equipment.
You’ll also help guide apprentices and be involved in mechanical fabrication, pipe fitting, and welding tasks. Your input will be critical in improving efficiency, maintaining safety standards, and supporting the company’s production goals.

Skills & Requirements
- Grade 12 with an NQF Level 3 post-matric qualification
- Valid Red Seal Trade Test Certificate as a Mechanical Fitter
- Welding certificate (advantageous)
- 3-5 years’ experience in a plant, workshop, or mechanical setting
- Strong skills in ARC, TIG, and Argon welding
- Good knowledge of pump alignment, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Confident in using hand tools and workshop equipment
- Familiar with MerSETA apprenticeship processes
- Basic computer skills (Word and Excel)
- Understanding of the OHS Act and workplace safety rules
