About the Role
As an IT Network Security Specialist, you will be the guardian of Vodacom’s enterprise network. Your main responsibilities include designing, implementing, and operating advanced security controls such as Cisco FTD/FMC, Fortinet, Cisco ISE, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and automation through Algosec. The role integrates Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to maintain high availability and compliance while responding quickly to security incidents.
You will also be a key contributor to the team’s 24/7 on-call rotation, ensuring uptime and proactive resolution of any threats or vulnerabilities.

- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of Cisco FTD/FMC, FortiGate, VPN, Cisco ISE, IDS/IPS, and Algosec automation
- Bonus Skills: Scripting (Python, Ansible), REST API integration, SNMP, syslog, and understanding of SRE concepts like SLIs and SLOs
Having additional training in cloud security, SRE Foundation, or ITIL will give you a strong edge over other candidates.
