Employment Type: Contract (12 Months)

Introduction

Nambiti Technologies is looking for a seasoned IT Infrastructure Programme Manager to join on a 12‑month contract in Johannesburg Central. This role is a terrific opportunity for someone who thrives leading large infrastructure programmes, coordinating across teams, vendors, and executive stakeholders. If you have experience with cloud technologies, data centre operations, networking, and disaster recovery — this is your chance to shape the backbone of a high-performing organisation’s tech environment.

You’ll be expected to deliver on strategy, ensure compliance, manage risk, and coordinate technical teams to meet demanding timelines. This role isn’t just about keeping systems running — it’s about driving infrastructure excellence that supports the organisation’s future growth. For the right person, this can lead to major career advancement and real visibility in the technology space in 2025.

About the Role

As the IT Infrastructure Programme Manager, you will own programme planning and strategy for infrastructure initiatives throughout Nambiti Technologies. Your responsibilities include defining the scope and business case for multiple projects — from network, data centre, security, cloud to edge computing — that align with organisational goals. You will provide oversight of simultaneous infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered on schedule, within budget, and up to standard.

You will manage budgets, allocate resources, and monitor expenditures and forecasts. You’ll also be responsible for risk and issue management, vendor relationships, stakeholder communication, and ensuring governance & compliance throughout. Technologies you’ll interact with include cloud/hyper‑scalers, virtualization, storage, data protection, network security, and disaster recovery. You may also drive business continuity planning, physical access controls in data centres, and network performance monitoring.

Who Should Apply

If you are a professional with deep experience in infrastructure and programme management, this role could be a perfect fit. You should have at least five years post‑qualification experience managing ICT / IT infrastructure programmes, including leading multiple concurrent initiatives. Proven expertise in cloud environments (Azure, Google Cloud, Huawei etc.), virtualization, storage, security, networking technologies, and disaster recovery are essential.

You should be someone who communicates clearly with both technical teams and high‑level stakeholders, is confident in vendor negotiations, and can enforce strong governance practices. If you’ve worked in settings requiring compliance with strict regulations (e.g. data centre controls, cloud security frameworks) and you excel under pressure, this is the kind of role where you can make significant impact. Also, leadership, decisiveness, and ability to manage cross‑functional teams are key traits for success here.

Skills & Requirements

To be eligible, candidates must hold a tertiary qualification (degree or diploma) from post‑matric level. A formal project management qualification (like PMP, Prince2, or PMBOK) is mandatory, and any additional certifications in Agile or cloud infrastructure will strengthen your application. You must have at least five years of structured infrastructure programme leading experience, with at least four years in a role overseeing multi‑project programmes.

  • Strong technical understanding of data centres, servers, storage systems, network topologies, virtualization, and security protocols
  • Proficiency with hyper‑scaler cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud, Huawei etc.), including cloud integration, storage replication, encryption, and disaster recovery
  • Experience with SD‑WAN, network segmentation, Wi‑Fi systems, edge computing, and network performance monitoring
  • Knowledge of compliance & governance standards especially related to physical access control, data protection, and disaster recovery/business continuity frameworks
  • Vendor management skills and capability to manage OEMs across different infrastructure technologies
  • Ability to establish and enforce strong governance methodologies throughout infrastructure programmes

Benefits

While this is a contract role, Nambiti Technologies offers compelling professional benefits. You will work in an environment that’s tech‑forward, with exposure to large scale infrastructure systems, cutting‑edge cloud technologies, and performance monitoring tools. Such exposure is invaluable for your career — enhancing your portfolio in infrastructure, compliance, cloud strategies, and disaster recovery.

  • High visibility of your work to senior leadership and opportunity to influence strategic infrastructure decisions
  • Chance to drive critical programmes that impact company resilience and performance
  • Continuous learning through dealing with diverse technologies and OEMs
  • Experience in governance, compliance, and industry best practices in ICT infrastructure
  • Potential to transition into permanent roles or higher responsibility in future infrastructure leadership

How to Apply

If this sounds like you, prepare your updated CV, focusing specifically on infrastructure, cloud, disaster recovery, and governance projects you’ve led. Include your certifications (PMP, Prince2, Agile, cloud credentials) and results of past programmes. Use the reference code JHB002864 when you apply to Nambiti Technologies. Applications must be submitted on or before October 24, 2025. You can apply via their careers portal, or through the job listing on trusted job websites. Be sure your cover letter highlights how you managed infrastructure strategy, vendor relationships, and delivered business continuity under rigorous standards.
