About the Role
As a Fire Fighter in Training at Sasol, your core purpose will be to help protect the company’s people, assets, and environment from potential safety, health, environment, risk, and quality (SHERQ) incidents. You’ll take part in scheduled physical and mental training programs, ensure emergency response equipment is always ready, and follow SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) best practices during all incidents. Skills & Requirements
- Minimum Education: Grade 12 with Mathematical Literacy or equivalent
- Medical Fitness: You must pass a fire fighter fitness assessment
- Preferred Certifications (Optional):
- NFPA 1001 Fire Fighter 1 & 2
- HPCSA Registered – BAA (Basic Life Support) or ILS (Intermediate Life Support)
- NFPA 1072/472 – Awareness & Operations
- Experience: 0 to 5 years in a related field (training or voluntary roles are acceptable)
- Key Competencies: Problem-solving, execution capability, teamwork, and self-mastery
