Overview
Rand Water is inviting qualified graduates in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry to apply for its Graduate Development Programme – Quality X1. Based in Vereeniging, this 24-month contract offers a structured opportunity for science graduates to gain real-world laboratory and quality assurance experience in a high-impact water services environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Four-year qualification (NQF Level 8) in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
- Experience in research projects and scientific techniques.
Primary Responsibilities
As a Quality Graduate, your duties will include:
- Developing or improving analytical methods within analytical chemistry.
- Troubleshooting method and instrumentation-related issues in the laboratory.
- Recording and verifying laboratory results on internal databases.
- Performing and documenting quality control checks in line with ISO 17025 requirements.
- Maintaining lab instruments and ensuring records are kept up-to-date.
- Adhering to SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) protocols and maintaining laboratory housekeeping standards.
Knowledge Areas
- Solid understanding of analytical chemistry methods and techniques.
- Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
- Basic statistical analysis and its application in quality control.
- Familiarity with project management concepts.
