About the Role

The Technician: IT & Desktop Support will be the first point of contact for IT-related issues. This includes resolving desktop, telephony, remote networking, VPN, Microsoft Teams, and printing support queries. The role also involves asset documentation and identity & access management.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st line support for desktops, telephony, and business applications
  • Assist walk-in users with IT issues
  • Document and escalate complex issues as needed
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop equipment and business software
  • Manage user expectations and build strong internal relationships
  • Support Microsoft 365, including Teams, OneDrive, and Exchange Online
  • Administer identity and access across all business applications
  • Record and report IT asset movements in coordination with Finance

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Senior Certificate (Matric)
  • Certificate in PC maintenance
  • A+ and N+ Certification
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in a formal IT support environment
  • Microsoft 365 Fundamentals or Microsoft 365 Administrator certification

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 and Teams platform
  • Ability to troubleshoot network, VPN, and telephony issues
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Experience with remote desktop support and walk-in troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of IT asset management and documentation
