About the Role
The SHERQ Coordinator at Unitrans will be responsible for managing and improving the integrated SHEQ system across the Safripol Warehouse in Sasolburg. This includes implementing ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and BB GAP standards, ensuring compliance with both internal and client protocols.
You’ll play a key role in aligning processes with best practices in quality, health, safety, environmental, and risk management. From inspections and audits to incident tracking and staff coaching, this role puts you at the center of operational safety and continuous improvement.

Skills & Requirements
- National Diploma or Degree in a relevant field
- Proficiency in MS Office with strong administration skills
- Thorough knowledge of OHASA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
- Familiarity with the COID Act and relevant Road Traffic legislation
- Strong leadership qualities and team motivation skills
- Accident and incident investigation experience
- Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure
- Experience with SHEQ X and knowledge of the transport industry (advantageous)
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly safety inspections and risk assessments
- Assist the Contract Manager with audit preparation
- Maintain and update SHEQ notice boards and monthly statistics
- Perform operational audits and capture findings in the Entropy system
- Monitor driver compliance with medicals, training, and work hours
- Maintain high housekeeping standards in line with policies
- Track and report customer SHEQ requirements
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety sessions with staff
- Collaborate with the training team to ensure SHEQ compliance
- Review and enforce compliance with ISO and safety protocols
