About the Role

Gijima is recruiting 3 Service Desk Interns to join their Midrand team. This internship provides practical exposure to IT support, ticketing systems, and customer service within a professional environment. Interns will work under supervision and assist with logging IT incidents, troubleshooting basic tech issues, escalating problems to senior agents, and learning service desk operations.

Who Should Apply

This internship is perfect for young, motivated individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Completed a 3-year IT qualification (Diploma, Degree, or relevant certificate)
  • Currently unemployed and not enrolled in any other internship or tertiary program
  • Under the age of 35 by 31 August 2025
  • South African citizens – African, Coloured, or Indian
  • Reside in Gauteng (no relocation offered)
  • No criminal record

Skills & Requirements

  • Basic understanding of IT concepts like Windows, Office 365, email, and internet connectivity
  • Computer literacy – must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, email, and internet
  • Willingness to learn IT service management and ITIL principles
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving ability and customer-focused mindset
  • Team player who works well with others
  • A valid driver’s license is an advantage
