About the Role
This permanent position is all about taking full ownership of the accounting function and playing a crucial role in a growing business. You’ll be the go-to expert for SARS, payroll, exchange control, and more. You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager and a solid creditors team, ensuring the business remains compliant and financially strong.
- Manage the full accounting function up to balance sheet
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register
- Handle VAT, PAYE, provisional and annual income tax
- Run payroll for under 100 employees
- Manage foreign exchange transactions and import reconciliations
- Prepare monthly spend tracking and variance analysis
- Ensure audit readiness and maintain strong internal controls
Who Should Apply
You’re ideal for this position if you’re a proactive and analytical financial professional with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting role. You enjoy working independently, thrive in fast-paced environments, and can manage multiple reporting responsibilities with precision.
Skills & Requirements
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience in accounting
- Expertise in SARS submissions and exchange control
- Solid understanding of IFRS 9 and statutory compliance
- Proficient in Sage Pastel Partner and Sage VIP Premier (non-negotiable)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical ability
- Background in audit or reconciliation finance is a bonus
