About the Role
This role involves teaching Coding and Robotics to Grade 8 and 9 students, using interactive lessons, hands-on projects, and curriculum-aligned content. The teacher will play a key role in introducing learners to computer programming and robotics, helping them understand the principles of logic, sequencing, problem-solving, and creativity. As part of your day-to-day duties, you’ll plan lessons, manage classroom resources, conduct assessments, and collaborate with fellow educators. You’ll also take part in school activities like sport and culture — creating a rich learning environment inside and outside the classroom.
Who Should Apply
This position is ideal for qualified teachers with a love for tech and innovation. If you’ve previously worked with coding and robotics kits, taught coding and robotics for beginners, or used tools like Lego Boost or Botley 2.0 in your lessons, you’ll fit right in. The school values individuals who are confident with IEB assessment standards and can create an engaging and inclusive classroom. If you’ve got classroom experience, plus a knack for tech — this role blends the best of both worlds.
Skills & Requirements
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- A relevant academic and professional education qualification
- 2–3 years of experience teaching Coding and Robotics
- Current SACE registration
- Familiarity with IEB curriculum and standards
- A clean criminal record
- A genuine passion for education, innovation, and student success
Bonus points if you’ve used robot coding kits or taught coding with robotics in a classroom setting. Enthusiasm, creativity, and adaptability are key traits Curro looks for in candidates.
