About the Role
As a Commis Chef, you will be responsible for the preparation and presentation of food across the restaurant, banqueting, and hotel operations. You’ll work closely with the Chef de Partie to ensure all dishes meet high-quality standards and are prepared on time. This is a permanent role with three positions currently available, making it a great opportunity for multiple candidates.

Skills & Requirements
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent national qualification
- 1-Year Culinary Certification or equivalent culinary certificate
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a culinary operation
- Membership with the South African Chef’s Association is an advantage
Essential skills and competencies include:
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and culinary equipment
- Strong knife skills
- Understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Ability to follow instructions and work to a recipe
- Time management and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and mise-en-place for service
- Assist in cooking hot and cold dishes to recipe standards
- Maintain cleanliness of your station and ensure equipment is working
- Follow safety and food hygiene regulations at all times
- Interact with guests professionally during buffet service
- Support the team in stock control and waste reduction
