ARC PhD Bursary in Agrometeorology or Plant Production – Apply Today
The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) is inviting applications for two PhD bursary positions in Agrometeorology or Plant Production. These are full-time, Department of Agriculture-funded bursaries based in Pretoria Central. About the PhD Programme

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct community-based trials in various agroecological zones.
- Develop baseline studies of local demographics and farming practices.
- Analyse natural resource impact on agroecosystems.
- Carry out research in both natural and controlled environments.
- Design models to encourage seed production by smallholder farmers.
- Collect and preserve germplasm from key local crops.
- Perform genotyping and phenotyping of selected germplasm.
- Gather and analyze primary and secondary data using both qualitative and quantitative tools.
- Contribute to scientific papers, reports, and outreach materials.
