About the Role
As a Fitter at Gold One Group, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing essential mining equipment in both surface and underground environments. You’ll be part of the Gedex Conventional Engineering team, ensuring machinery functions safely and efficiently to support continuous operations.

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 11 or equivalent qualification
- Recognised Trade Certificate as a Fitter (Section 13 or Section 26D)
- At least 3 years’ post-apprenticeship experience in mining or heavy industry
- Hands-on experience in a conventional underground mining operation
- Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Basic welding and pipe fitting experience
- Familiarity with planned maintenance systems
- Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required
- Valid driver’s license
- South African citizenship
- Clear criminal record
- Must pass a medical fitness examination by the OHP
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out repairs, maintenance, and installations on pumps, conveyors, crushers, winches, and mechanical systems
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment issues on both surface and underground
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards
- Record maintenance activities, parts usage, and safety checks
- Assist with planned maintenance shutdowns and emergency repairs
- Work closely with the engineering and production teams to reduce downtime
- Contribute to safety initiatives and follow all MHSA guidelines
