Group SHE Officer Role at Fidelity Services Group – Based in Midrand

Introduction

Fidelity Services Group, a leader in the South African security industry, is looking for a dedicated and experienced Group SHE Officer. This permanent role, based at their Midrand campus, is a great opportunity to make a real difference in workplace health, safety, and environmental management.

What the Job Is About

The Group SHE Officer will work closely with the Group SHE Manager to support and guide company-wide compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. You’ll lead initiatives to reduce accidents, enhance safety culture, and ensure alignment with company, customer, and legal requirements across all business units.

Who Should Apply

Skills Requirements

  • 2-5 years’ experience in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), especially in construction.
  • Diploma or degree in SHE Management preferred.
  • Completed courses such as RCAT, Risk Management, and other EHS training.
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experienced in developing training, policies, and safety programs.
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
  • Willing to travel when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a zero-harm culture across all business divisions.
  • Support managers in implementing the company’s SHE Management System.
  • Develop and roll out national safety projects and processes.
  • Lead risk assessment and contractor management programs.
  • Investigate and manage workplace incidents and near misses.
  • Track regional SHE performance and produce accurate reporting data.
  • Train teams on SHE topics and compliance using the Fidelity mySolutions system.
  • Assist with legal and Department of Labour audits and investigations.
