About the Role

As an Electronic Technician, you will be part of the Engineering and Maintenance department. You’ll be responsible for carrying out project-based electrical and electronic installations and maintenance, all in line with SABS regulations. This role reports directly to the Foreman: Electrical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute electrical and electronic installations as per SABS standards
  • Assess and respond to electrical maintenance requirements
  • Repair and maintain equipment and attend to breakdowns
  • Conduct regular plant inspections and schedule maintenance
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed and report any unsafe conditions
  • Inspect equipment monthly for safety compliance
  • Provide technical support to mechanical and production departments
  • Perform fault inspections on PLC, AC, and DC drive systems
  • Be available for standby duties as operational needs require

Minimum Requirements

  • N6, T3, S4 certificate or equivalent in electrical or electronic qualification
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a maintenance environment
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and municipal by-laws
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment is an advantage
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance systems
  • Exposure to working in FMCG environments
  • Skills in PLC programming, printed circuit board repair, and AC/DC drives
