Brights Hardware in Blackheath, Western Cape is looking for a reliable and customer-focused individual to join their team as a Cashier in the Frontline Department. About the Role
As a Cashier at Brights Hardware, your role is to deliver excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. You’ll be the face of the store, ensuring that customers leave with a positive impression of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly as they enter the store
- Process cash and EFT payments accurately
- Ensure sales are rung up correctly and efficiently
- Pack customer purchases neatly and securely
- Follow all cash handling procedures including daily cash ups
- Alert management to any suspicious behavior
- Stay informed about current promotions and product offers
- Issue and manage gift cards and loyalty points
- Maintain a clean and organized cashier area
- Participate in regular stock takes
- Carry out additional tasks as delegated by management

Required Skills and Experience
- Matric certificate or equivalent qualification
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar cashier or frontline role
- Completion of Brights Induction (Service Excellence)
- Clear credit history
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- High level of vigilance and awareness
- Ability to work under pressure and remain calm
- Strong numerical and basic math skills
- Capable of working independently and in a team
- Good organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
