Exciting Opportunity: 1ST Year Engineering Learner (In House) in Rustenburg

Impala is offering a registered learnership programme for aspiring engineering professionals in Rustenburg. The 1ST Year Engineering Learner (In House) initiative is designed to equip candidates with the skills required to qualify as artisans in key trades, including Electrician, Boilermaker, Fitter, and Rigger.

About the Role

This learnership provides a hands-on path to becoming a certified artisan through structured on-the-job training and formal instruction. Learners will assist senior artisans, apply engineering principles, and ensure that maintenance work is carried out safely and effectively.

Who Should Apply?

Candidates with a solid foundation in engineering studies and a passion for practical learning are encouraged to apply. Engineering employees will be given preference.

Minimum Requirements

  • N2 with four subjects or NCV Level 4 with Mathematics (above 40%)
  • Must undergo assessment and be recommended for interview
  • Medical fitness certificate (Red Ticket)
  • Completion of RFA and Heat Tolerance Screening (HTS)

Key Responsibilities

  • Train toward an artisan qualification through job-based and formal learning
  • Assist artisans in maintenance, repair, and fabrication tasks
  • Identify and report risks while performing engineering work
  • Execute fault diagnosis and troubleshooting
  • Follow company rules and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Maintain equipment to prevent production delays
  • Work under supervision to gain experience and build skills
