Key Responsibilities:

Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ):

• Identify and assess risks in your area.
• Follow SHEQ Toolbox and legal safety rules.
• Use Integrated Management System (IMS) to report issues.

Business Processes:

• Ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act.
• Manage hygiene and environmental risks.
• Test air, dust, noise, and temperature underground.

Ventilation Tasks:

• Use instruments to test air quality, airflow, and pollutants.
• Install and maintain ventilation systems.
• Design airflow solutions for underground safety.

Dust, Noise, Illumination & Pressure:

• Conduct dust sampling and measure exposure.
• Measure noise with sound meters and ensure compliance.
• Check lighting and temperature using special tools.
• Monitor pressure in equipment and systems.

Growth & Excellence:

• Improve processes using Operational Excellence.

Requirements:

Minimum:

• Grade 12 / N3 certificate
• Mine Environmental Control Intermediate Certificate from the Chamber of Mines
• 5 years underground ventilation experience (2 years in a supervisory role preferred)

Advantageous:

• Blasting Certificate
• Vuma Modeling and AutoCAD knowledge

• Strong understanding of mining operations
