Safety Officer Job – Servest, Secunda (Mining Sector)
Servest Security, a business unit of Servest, is looking for a qualified and experienced Safety Officer to join its operations team in Secunda, South Africa. This contract role offers a valuable opportunity to work in the mining industry while ensuring health and safety compliance on-site. The position reports directly to the Contract Manager.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Health and Safety Qualification – SAMTRAC or NOSA certificates required
- 3 to 5 years experience in mining as a Safety Officer
- Knowledge of MHSA, OHS Act, auditing, and incident investigation
- PSIRA Grade A certificate
- No criminal record or pending cases
- Medically fit for mining work
- Valid Driver’s License with reliable transport
- Must be based in Secunda and willing to work underground
Key Responsibilities
- Update site safety files weekly
- Audit subcontractors’ safety files each month
- Attend monthly site safety meetings and upload minutes to SHEQ X
- Conduct on-site safety observations (PTOs) to ensure client compliance
- Investigate incidents and submit reports
- Support the Contract Manager and Operations Executive – Mining
