Skills and Requirements
- Grade 12 / National Certificate (minimum)
- Proven bartending experience, including coffee preparation
- Strong knowledge of mixology, garnishing, and drink recipes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Friendly, professional, and well-groomed appearance
- Ability to multitask under pressure
- Basic computer literacy and point-of-sale experience
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills
- Physically able to stand for extended periods
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Mix and serve a wide variety of beverages and cocktails
- Prepare and serve coffee and hot drinks, especially during breakfast
- Support waitstaff by handling drink orders quickly and correctly
- Engage with guests and recommend drinks
- Maintain a clean and well-organized bar area
- Prepare garnishes and maintain stock levels
- Handle transactions accurately and manage the till
- Enforce legal drinking age regulations
- Monitor customer behavior to ensure a safe environment
- Assist with planning bar menus and creating signature cocktails
