Are you an experienced artisan with strong mechanical, electrical, or millwright skills? RCL Foods is hiring a Warehouse Artisan to join its Groceries & Spreads Business Unit in Boksburg, Gauteng. If you have a Trade Test, N3 qualification, and at least 6 years of hands-on maintenance experience, this permanent role could be your next career move!
About the Role
The Warehouse Artisan will support the Warehouse Controller by performing essential maintenance and repairs across the site. This includes electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks. You’ll also manage relationships with service providers and ensure compliance with SLAs and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily maintenance checks and repairs
- Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical maintenance
- Routine inspections on doors, fire protection, conveyor systems, refrigeration units, and more
- Liaise with external service providers (OEMs)
- Replace faulty lights, equipment, windows, doors, locks, and fittings
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting
- Assist with ad hoc facility and engineering projects
- Comply with safety, hygiene, and food safety standards
- Lead maintenance schedules and planned tasks
Minimum Requirements
- N3 qualification and a valid Trade Test (Mechanical/Electrical/Millwright)
- Minimum 6 years of maintenance experience
- Knowledge of high-speed packaging and processing machinery is an advantage
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to work shifts, standby, and outside of normal hours
- Strong problem-solving and technical analysis skills
- Must be flexible, reliable, and safety-conscious
