Sappi Southern Africa is hiring! If you're looking for an opportunity to grow your career in engineering and maintenance, this might be the job for you. We’re currently looking for an Artisan Assistant at our Ngodwana Mill in Mpumalanga, South Africa.
Job Purpose
You will assist with routine maintenance as an Artisan Assistant and assist more experienced Artisans with more difficult tasks. This role is essential to keeping our equipment running safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with maintenance and repair of fabrication workshop equipment.
- Obtain "authorised workman" licence and support lockout procedures.
- Handle and dispose of waste safely and correctly.
- Use and maintain tools properly.
- Obtain licences to operate mobile equipment at Ngodwana Mill.
- Support Artisans during equipment breakdowns and maintenance.
- Transport equipment as needed around the workplace.
- Promote safety and good housekeeping in the work environment.
- Ensure full compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Requirements

- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science, or an N3 Engineering Science (NQF Level 4) qualification.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- Fabrication experience is a strong advantage.
