About the Maintenance Assistant Role

Clinix Health Group is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to help with the daily technical operations of Tshepo Themba Private Hospital. Your role is to ensure the equipment, systems, and infrastructure are functioning properly to support a safe environment for patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily maintenance tasks and attend to emergency repairs
• Perform regular checks on hospital equipment and systems
• Maintain electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning systems
• Assist with installations for electrical and plumbing systems
• Handle medical gas systems and use of chemical substances safely
• Complete and close job cards for all maintenance work
• Be available for emergency after-hours and standby duties
• Work with and supervise contractors as required
• Identify and report technical issues or risks
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies
• Maintain good communication with nurses, doctors, and patients

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) and Engineering N3 certificate
• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a healthcare setting
• Good knowledge of:
  • Air conditioning systems
  • Electrical and plumbing systems
  • Fire safety systems
  • Nurse call systems
  • Medical gas systems
• Understanding of building codes and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
