About the Program
The Learner Engineer program is designed to provide engineering graduates with practical technical training and exposure to real-world applications. You'll be guided by experienced technicians, managers, and engineers, enabling you to gain valuable insight into the company's operations.
Depending on your engineering discipline, you will receive specialized training:
- Mining Engineers: Opportunity to attain a Blasting Ticket (Surface or UG) as part of the program, in collaboration with industry partners.
- Mechanical/Mechatronic/Electrical Engineers: Receive a maintenance trade qualification, which will further your career as a seasoned technician or technologist.
The program offers practical exposure beyond typical P1/P2 requirements and acts as a feeder to Sandvik’s internship program. The internship program focuses more on business exposure but also includes practical experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to the conditions of the employment agreement.
- Perform tasks as directed by your supervisors.
- Behave in a professional and courteous manner.
- Work toward meeting the competencies outlined in the training plan.
- Participate in required training and assessments.
- Maintain a training record and present it when needed.
Profile Required
To be eligible for this program, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Mining, Electrical and Electronics, or Industrial Engineering.
- Skills & Traits:
- Passion for Maintenance Engineering.
- Willingness to get hands-on experience.
- Strong critical and analytical thinking abilities.
