Exciting Learnership Opportunity at ITB Plastics
ITB Plastics, a leading flexible plastic packaging manufacturer and part of the Novus Holdings Group, is offering a Plastic Manufacturing Learnership (NQFL2). ITB produces a wide range of packaging solutions for the FMCG and food markets, including retail bags, security bags, food packaging, heavy-duty sacks, and carrier bags. These products are distributed across South Africa and internationally.
This learnership program offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and complete a National Certificate in Plastics Manufacturing upon successful completion.
Key Responsibilities in the Learnership Program
As part of the learnership, candidates will be expected to:
- Complete various tasks that match their current level of training and development.
- Attend training sessions and submit coursework on time and to a high standard.
- Maintain a portfolio of evidence that is accurate and signed off.
- Work independently and responsibly.
- Follow ITB’s Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in regular training and development reviews with mentors and HR representatives.
- Take on additional duties as needed.
Educational Requirements
- Completed Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics or Maths Literacy, and Science and/or Accounting.
Experience Requirements
- Be between 18-30 years old.
- Unemployed at the time of application.
- Not currently enrolled in any other learnerships or studying at another institution.
- Willing to undergo training, assignments, and workplace assessments for one year.
Skills and Competencies
To succeed in this program, candidates should possess:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to learn and grasp new concepts quickly.
- the capacity to pay attention to detail, meet deadlines, and perform well under pressure.
- Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing English.
- Willingness to work shifts and weekend overtime if required.
- Ability to make decisions in line with the company and learnership program requirements.
- Studying capability at NQFL2 level.
Terms and Conditions
- This program is exclusively for unemployed candidates.
- Successful candidates will be employed on a 12-month fixed-term basis.
- Candidates will need to sign both a Service Contract and a Learnership Contract.
- Upon successful completion of the learnership, candidates will earn a National Certificate in Plastics Manufacturing.
- Permanent employment is not guaranteed after the learnership.
- Candidates will undergo an assessment as part of the selection process.
