Purpose of the Job

This is an exciting opportunity to train towards becoming an artisan through a structured Learnership Program. Successful candidates will gain hands-on experience and receive the necessary training in their chosen field, setting them up for a rewarding career in engineering.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

You must fulfill the following criteria in order to be considered for this position:

  • Grade 12/STD 10/NQF Level 4 (or equivalent).
  • A minimum of N2 with four (4) complete subjects or NCV Level 4 with subjects relevant to the trade is essential.
  • Willingness to undergo knowledge assessment, psychometric assessment, and attend a formal interview.
  • Ability to obtain a medical fitness certificate (Red Ticket) and pass Heat Tolerance Screening (HTS).

Key Performance Areas

As a trainee in this Learnership Program, you will:

  • Be trained to become an artisan through both on-the-job and off-the-job training.
  • Assist experienced artisans with job functions, including fixing, replacing, and maintaining equipment by applying engineering principles.
  • Complete all phases of engineering training to qualify as an artisan.
  • Familiarize yourself with Marula Mine’s rules, regulations, and safety standards to ensure compliance with best practices.
  • Work closely with a coach (artisan or foreman) in a supervised environment to gain real-world experience.
  • Conduct basic fault diagnosis, problem-solving, and reporting.
  • Help maintain engineering equipment to minimize production losses.
  • Gain supervisory experience under limited authority to develop leadership skills.
