Job Overview

As a Call Centre Agent, you will be responsible for managing face-to-face, telephonic, and email interactions with customers. You will handle customer queries, process requests, resolve complaints, and provide information related to the City of Tshwane’s services. You will play a vital role in ensuring that customers receive prompt, efficient, and friendly service.

Job Requirements:

Candidates must fulfill the following requirements in order to be considered for this position:

  1. Educational Requirements:

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
  2. Experience Requirements:

    • At least 2 years of relevant experience in customer care and call centre operations.
    • Familiarity with call centre technologies and systems.
  3. Knowledge and Skills:

    • Knowledge of City of Tshwane’s operations, billing processes, and Batho Pele principles (the customer service principles of “Putting People First”).
    • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Familiarity with SAP CIC and CRM is an added advantage.
  4. Other Requirements:

    • Must undergo a criminal record check and have fingerprints taken by TMPD at your own cost.
    • Willingness to work at any regional customer care centre, depending on operational needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

You will be in charge of the following as a call center agent:

  • Handling customer queries through phone, email, or in-person interactions.
  • Managing customer complaints and ensuring that issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Locating and processing customer information to ensure timely service delivery.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with both customers and colleagues.
  • Capturing and recording customer requests for further processing.
  • Meeting performance standards and contributing to the continuous improvement of customer service processes.
