Ivanplats (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is looking for skilled and qualified candidates for various Artisan Assistant positions. The company is developing its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province, near Mokopane, and is seeking candidates to assist in its project development. These positions offer exciting opportunities for individuals to join a state-of-the-art underground mining project.
Available Positions:
- Artisan Assistant Boilermaker (REF: MRCIVP-71/25)
- Artisan Assistant Electrical (REF: MRCIVP-70/25)
- Artisan Assistant Fitter (REF: MRCIVP-69/25)
- Artisan Assistant Rigging (REF: MRCIVP-69/25)
Minimum Qualifications for All Positions:
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent
- Basic rigging course
- Qualifications in Engineering studies (advantageous)
- Good English communication skills (written and verbal)
Work Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of one year's experience working in a mining environment
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and relevant trade-specific equipment
Artisan Assistant Boilermaker (REF: MRCIVP-71/25)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with flame cutting, welding, and drilling activities
- Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment (loads below 3 tons)
- Maintain tools and equipment
- Ensure good housekeeping standards
- Assist with tool inspections and safety procedures
Artisan Assistant Electrical (REF: MRCIVP-70/25)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the maintenance of electrical equipment
- Perform basic electrical work using hand-held tools
- Ensure safe working conditions, and assist in electrical inspections
- Assist electricians with wiring, cable securing, and equipment connections
Artisan Assistant Fitter (REF: MRCIVP-69/25)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in mechanical maintenance and repair tasks
- Operate cranes safely and lift equipment (up to 3 tons)
- Follow safety procedures during mechanical work
- Ensure effective tool maintenance and assist in inspections
Artisan Assistant Rigging (REF: MRCIVP-69/25)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with rigging and slinging activities
- Safely operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment (loads below 3 tons)
- Ensure good housekeeping and safety standards in rigging work
- Assist in rigging inspections and equipment maintenance
