Lindsay Saker Audi Bryanston is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for passionate individuals to start their career as an Apprentice Motor Mechanic through an Accredited Competency-Based Modular Training (CBMT) Apprenticeship program. This is a combination of on-the-job training (OJT) and related classroom instruction under the supervision of a Qualified Motor Vehicle Mechanic. The training will be supported by the Motus Technical Training Academy (MTTA), which will provide all the theoretical, classroom-based education.
About the Apprenticeship Program
This apprenticeship program is designed to give you the skills and knowledge needed to become a professional motor mechanic. The program consists of four levels, and successful candidates will complete their apprenticeship over a period of four years. Here’s what you can expect:
- CBMT Contract with merSETA and Learnership Contract: You will enter into a formal contract with both merSETA and Lindsay Saker Audi Bryanston.
- Training Structure:
- Level 1 to 4: Complete a 4-year apprenticeship contract.
- Classroom Training: 5 days every 5 weeks at the MTTA.
- Distance Learning: Access to interactive demonstrations, quizzes, tutorials, and practical exercises via the CDX program.
- Testing and Assessment: Includes computer-based testing, practical competency testing, and portfolio evidence collection.
- Work Experience: Gain hands-on experience by working alongside qualified technicians at the Lindsay Saker Audi Bryanston Service Department.
As part of the program, you will also complete your portfolio of evidence, inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles in line with the original manufacturer’s descriptions.
Qualifications and Experience Required
You must fulfill the following requirements in order to be eligible for this apprenticeship:
- Matric with Mathematics and Physical Science (or N2 with Mathematics, Engineering Science, and English with at least 50% in each subject).
- Driver’s License.
- Computer Literacy.
- Mechanical Insight Test: You must pass a mechanical insight test to be considered for the program.
- Background Check: A standard background check will be performed before proceeding to the next stage.
- Medical Assessment: A medical assessment to establish fitness for work.
- Psychometric Assessment and Interview: Successful candidates will go through a psychometric assessment and a face-to-face interview.
