Engineering Learnership Program Details

The learnership program offers entry-level candidates the chance to work in the following areas:

  • Electrician Learnership (x2 positions)
  • Millwright Learnership (x4 positions)
  • Measurement Control & Instrumentation Mechanician Learnership (x1 position)
  • Auto Electrician Learnership (x1 position)

This three-year program is designed to equip you with the skills to qualify as an artisan in your chosen field. The program combines institutional training and on-the-job training at Mogalakwena Mine.

Learnership Training Structure:

  • 1st Year: Classroom-based training at the Engineering Skills Training Centre (ESTC).
  • 2nd Year: On-the-job/core training at Mogalakwena Mine.
  • 3rd Year: Complete trade test to become a qualified artisan.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for the learnership program, applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications and requirements:

  • Matric with Mathematics (not Maths Literacy), Physical Science, and English (all with a minimum 40% pass), or
  • N2 with subjects relevant to the specific trade, or
  • NCV Level 4 in the appropriate trade with all subjects passed with a minimum 40% pass.

Additional Requirements:

  • South African citizenship.
  • Must be able to pass a psychometric assessment.
  • A medical certificate of fitness or the ability to obtain one.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • A valid South African Driver’s License (advantageous).
