Are you looking for a new opportunity in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? Eskom is hiring a Utilityman for the Kusile Power Station in Mpumalanga, South Africa. If you’re hardworking, eager to learn, and have a keen eye for detail, this could be the perfect role for you!
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Experience:
- 1-2 years’ experience in the technical field, particularly with workshop cleaning and maintenance.
- Knowledge of cleaning workshops and test apparatus is a plus.
Skills and Competencies:
- Time Management: The ability to manage tasks efficiently.
- Overtime Flexibility: Willingness to work overtime when required.
- HIRA Compiling: Ability to compile a Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA).
- Conflict Resolution: Addressing and solving issues that may arise in the workplace.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Good communication skills are essential for interacting with colleagues and supervisors.
Knowledge Required:
- Cleaners Work Procedure for Workshops: Familiar with standard cleaning procedures in technical workshops.
- Safety Regulations: Basic understanding of safety rules and OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act).
- Work at Height: Ability to perform tasks at elevated positions.
- Practical Technical Skills: Basic understanding of technical tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation for Electrical Tests: Ensure correct preparation before electrical testing on transformers.
- Workshop Maintenance: Keep the workshop clean, safe, and organized at all times.
- Clean Test Apparatus: Clean all high-voltage test apparatus and related equipment.
- Tool Management: Ensure proper maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Workshop Toolbox Talks: Participate in discussions about safety and operational procedures.
- SHEQ Responsibilities: Adhere to Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards.
