Job Purpose:
The General Worker will be responsible for ensuring cleanliness and hygiene across allocated sites, aligning with Sasol's Safety, Health, and Environmental standards. You will also assist tradespeople in their duties, supporting the overall operational efficiency of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety First: Always use the appropriate safety equipment while working. Follow safety procedures on vehicles and other equipment.
- Pre-Trip Inspections: Perform vehicle pre-trip inspections based on a standard checklist and report any defects immediately to the Supervisor.
- Timely Deliveries: Ensure documentation, spares, equipment, products, samples, and personnel are delivered to the correct recipients on time.
- Safety Awareness: Be proactive about safety, ensuring both yourself and others are protected.
- Critical Controls: Maintain safety measures as required by operational safety guidelines (bow-tie method) and report any defects or deviations.
- Incident Reporting: Report all incidents immediately to the Supervisor and/or security control room.
- Escort Duties: Assist in escorting personnel and materials during maintenance activities.
- Inspections: Conduct inspections as required to maintain high safety and cleanliness standards.
Requirements:
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) or N3 Certificate.
- You need at least one year of experience in a similar job.
- Skills Needed:
- Effective Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Pay attention to safety details and operational guidelines.
- Multi-tasking: Ability to handle multiple tasks at once while maintaining focus on safety.
- Planning & Organization: Organize and plan tasks effectively.
- Compliance with Safety Policies: Strong understanding of SHE (Safety, Health, and Environmental) policies and procedures.
