The Engineering Learnership program is a three-year apprenticeship designed to help individuals develop the skills needed to qualify as artisans. This learnership is open to individuals who are ready to grow in the mechanical engineering and mining fields.
Program Structure:
- Year 1: Institutional training at ESTC, Engineering Skills Training Centre.
- Year 2: On-the-job/core training at Mogalakwena Mine.
- Year 3: Completion of trade test and qualification as an Artisan.
Requirements to Apply:
- Matric with Mathematics, Physical Science, and English (minimum 40% pass in each subject).
- N2 or higher with the required subjects for the selected trade.
- NCV Level 4 in the appropriate trade, passed with a minimum of 40%.
Learnership Conditions:
- Be prepared to work in open pit mining areas (dusty conditions).
- Work in accordance with the work schedule and possibly involve shifts.
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must pass a psychometric assessment.
- Medical certificate of fitness or ability to obtain one.
- Valid South African driver’s license will be advantageous.
