Rand Water is looking for a reliable Artisan Assistant – Electrical to support the maintenance, repairs, and installation of electrical equipment. This position plays a key role in the day-to-day operations across 14 districts within the Bulk Water Distribution service area. If you’re passionate about electrical work and eager to contribute to essential services, this job is perfect for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Repairs: Assist with the regular maintenance and repair of electrical plant and equipment.
- Routine Inspections: Help with the inspection of equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.
- Electrical Installations: Support with electrical installations in various settings.
- Minor Electrical Repairs: Conduct minor repairs to electrical systems and devices.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- N1 Electrical qualification.
- Driver’s License (Code B).
- 1 year of experience in a similar role, or alternatively, ABET Level 4 + 5 years experience in an electrical environment.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Electrical Knowledge: Basic understanding of electrical principles and safety protocols.
- Tools & Equipment: Familiarity with using electrical hand tools and equipment.
- Basic Wiring: Ability to perform basic wiring tasks.
- Electrical Testing: Knowledge of basic electrical testing equipment.
