About the Role:
SOILL is looking for an Artisan Assistant 3 to join our team in Cape Town. This role is responsible for maintaining plant equipment, machinery, and facilities to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate will help keep equipment running, assist in repairs, and support our team in various maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Plant Equipment Maintenance: Perform maintenance and repairs on pumps, steam lines, pneumatic components, machinery, and other plant equipment.
Installation & Upgrades: Install new machines, equipment, and structures as needed.
Emergency Response: Act swiftly to address emergency machine breakdowns across the plant.
Preventative Maintenance: Uphold regular preventative maintenance schedules to prevent future issues.
Equipment Repair: Fix faulty equipment and ensure it is operating at full capacity.
Inspection: Regularly inspect plant equipment to ensure functionality.
Welding Support: Assist with welding needs, especially for the SOILL fleet.
Team Assistance: Work with the building team on plant breakdowns and maintenance tasks.
Health & Safety:
- Participate in safety forums and follow safety protocols.
- Report safety incidents and attend safety training programs.
- Always wear the necessary protective clothing and follow safety guidelines.
Employee Management & Development:
- Ensure all team members have clear job profiles and support their professional growth.
- Conduct regular goal reviews and mentor team members to meet operational demands.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Matric (or equivalent)
- Driver’s License: Code 8 license
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role
- Technical Skills: Plant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus. Experience with conveying equipment, gearboxes, drives systems, and pumps is highly advantageous.
- Welding: Qualified in TIG, ARC, and MIG welding.
- Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills required.
