About the Role:
We are seeking a talented Apprentice Engine Technician to join our team at Cummins in Kathu, Northern Cape. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about mechanical work and ready to gain hands-on experience in engine service and maintenance. In this role, you’ll work toward earning a Cummins Diesel Fitter Qualification and play a key part in providing excellent service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
As an Apprentice Engine Technician, your role will involve:
- Gaining practical knowledge of Cummins products and industry standards.
- Developing strong mechanical knowledge to diagnose and repair engines safely and efficiently.
- Contributing to engine maintenance by disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, troubleshooting, and reassembling engines.
- Adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you need:
- Grade 12 National Senior Certificate (NSC) from the South African school system and either an N2 (Nated) certificate or an NCV Level 4 qualification.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including engineering drawing, science, mathematics, and diesel/motor trade theory.
- A valid driver’s license to meet the job requirements.
