Are you looking to kickstart your career in electrical work? AECI Property Services is offering a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Electrician to join their team. This position provides hands-on training and a chance to gain valuable experience in the electrical industry while working alongside qualified artisans.
Job Description:
As an Apprentice Electrician, you will:
- Learn and develop electrical skills: Gain in-depth knowledge and experience in your trade through practical training and exposure to real-world tasks.
- Participate in formal training programs: Follow a structured apprenticeship plan and make steady progress to meet the required competencies. You will attend training and assessments as needed to improve your skills.
- Work under guidance: Assist qualified artisans and technicians in maintaining, repairing, and optimizing plant equipment, including electrical circuits, motors, and new electrical devices.
- Adhere to safety standards: Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures, work instructions, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Cable reticulation and installations: Help with the installation of electrical circuits and motors for both industrial and domestic settings, as well as testing and commissioning of new equipment.
- Use power tools and hand tools efficiently: Learn how to use and maintain the necessary tools for the job while following all safety protocols.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Science.
- N3 qualification is essential for applying for a trade test.
- Driver’s license (preferable but not required).
- Basic understanding of a process plant environment and the importance of regular maintenance.
- Ability to obtain a health clearance to work in a chemical environment.
