Purpose of the Job:

As an apprentice Millwright at Sasol, you will receive on-the-job training to become a fully qualified Millwright. You’ll develop your skills according to the requirements set by the relevant South African SETA (QCTO) and the National Artisan Moderation Board (NAMB).

Key Responsibilities:

As an Apprentice Millwright, your responsibilities will include:

  • Plant and Equipment Maintenance: Learn to manage and maintain plant systems and equipment.
  • Work Planning: Understand and implement planning work management systems.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety management systems, conduct risk assessments, and apply emergency procedures.
  • Teamwork: Participate in daily meetings and work with colleagues to meet deadlines.
  • Development: Take part in training and development programs and identify areas for personal growth.
  • Leadership: Demonstrate leadership potential, including the ability to take the lead in team tasks and assist in the development of work instructions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in root cause analyses, contribute to the maintenance strategy, and help improve plant safety and stability.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

To be considered for this apprenticeship, you need:

  • Education: A high school diploma (Matric) or equivalent (N3).
  • Experience: 0 to 1 year of relevant experience (freshers are welcome to apply).
