AVI Limited is seeking an experienced Instrument Technician to join their team at the National Brands Isando Coffee & Creamer Factory in Kempton Park, Gauteng. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the automation projects and maintenance support in a world-class FMCG environment.

Job Description:
AVI Ltd. is a well-known company with leading brands in various sectors, including food and beverages, personal care products, and fashion apparel. As part of its National Brands division, which operates 5 manufacturing sites across South Africa, this role offers the chance to support cutting-edge automation systems and ensure the smooth operation of factory processes.
The Instrument Technician will work closely with the Electrical and Instrumentation Foreman to ensure optimal performance of the factory’s automated systems. This involves regular maintenance of PLC’s, SCADA systems, and electronic instrumentation, with a focus on minimizing downtime through preventative maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain PLC’s and SCADA systems, ensuring proper function.
- Extend the PLC/SCADA footprint where possible.
- Operate and maintain electronic instrumentation and electromechanical systems.
- Perform fault finding and repairs on automation systems, PLC’s, drives, and electrical systems.
- Assist in minor PLC and SCADA programming.
- Support production projects and improvements in automation systems.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience as an Instrument Technician or Automation Technician.
- Experience in FMCG or manufacturing environments is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Siemens PLC and SCADA/Wonderware.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation circuits with the ability to interpret electrical drawings.
- Completed N6 Certificate or an Engineering-related National Diploma (S4/T3/T4) in Electronic/Electrical Engineering (Light Current).
- Electrical/Instrumentation Trade Test.
- Proficient in MS Office and SAP.
