Learnership Program Overview:

The Engineering Learnership program at Anglo American Platinum provides unemployed individuals with a chance to gain practical training and qualifications in various engineering disciplines. The learnerships are available for the following trades at the Amandelbult Mine:

  • Fitters (8 positions)
  • Riggers (4 positions)
  • Electricians (4 positions)
  • Diesel Mechanics (2 positions)
  • Boilermakers (6 positions)

This learnership program is aimed at providing candidates with both technical skills and practical experience, leading to a trade qualification.

Minimum Entry Requirements:

To qualify for the Engineering Learnership, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Matric with Mathematics (not Literacy), Physical Science, and English (minimum 40% pass in each subject), or
  • N2 Certificate in Engineering (with relevant subjects as required by the trade), or
  • NCV Level 4 in an appropriate engineering trade (with a minimum 40% pass in all subjects).

You should also have a solid understanding of:

  • Mathematics
  • Engineering Science
  • Relevant Trade Theory

Additionally, applicants should be familiar with industrial electronics, engineering drawings, or plating structural drawings (depending on the trade).

Additional Requirements:

  • Proof of residence (for host community members), certified by the relevant tribal office or municipality.
  • CV and certified copies of qualifications must be submitted.
  • Background screening will be conducted as part of the selection process, which may include fingerprint verification.
