We’re on the hunt for a motivated Diesel Mechanic Assistant. This position is located at the Burgersfort Depot, where you’ll report to the workshop foreman. This role’s main responsibility is to assess all auto electrical repairs for the fleet with the Transport Manager, work together to plan auto electrical and mechanical jobs on time, identify and fix electrical faults when needed, and organize the materials and equipment required for job cards and service orders.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Must have Completed Grade 12
  • Candidates with a recognized tertiary qualification, especially in the electrical field, will be given priority.
  • Experience working with Isuzu vehicles or Background in Isuzu automotive work

Tasks and Duties:

  • Check all auto electrical repairs needed on the fleet and report to the transport manager.
  • Examine all mechanical repairs for the fleet and share the details with the transport manager.
  • Work with the Manager to manage transport costs and maintain high-quality standards.

  • Have the expertise to diagnose and fix Isuzu faults following the Isuzu fault-finding system.
  • Be skilled in examining and repairing alternators and starters as necessary.
  • Have the ability to diagnose and repair electrical faults in vehicles when required.
  • Have the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults when required.
  • Go through job orders and determine priorities and service times accordingly.
  • Manage the movement of auto electrical components to keep operations running without interruption.
  • Coordinate the equipment and materials for job cards and service orders, and work closely with the Manager to ensure auto electrical and mechanical tasks are completed on time and meet the required specifications.
