We are looking for two talented and skilled boilermakers/welders to join our team in Isando, South Africa. This full-time opportunity offers a chance to be a key contributor in a dynamic environment, where you will be responsible for performing welding and boiler-making tasks with precision, ensuring the highest quality and safety standards.

Main Deliverable:

  • Boilermaker fixing and servicing of Caterpillar equipment on the worksite.
  • The artisan should be willing to work extra hours and be on standby when needed.
  • Cut materials and create profiles with an oxyacetylene cutting torch.
  • Use the air-arc gouging method to remove parts of components, like the adaptor, from the cutting edge.
  • Create durable welds with gas-metal arc (CO2) and shielded metal arc (stick) welding in the 6G position.
  • Assemble parts like buckets, bowls, and blades according to the correct measurements from the OEM drawings.
  • Repair broken and bent components with the proper tools.
  • Taking responsibility for your own work and managing yourself effectively.

Education, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • Matric with a qualification in the appropriate trade (welder/boilermaker).
  • At least 2 years of work experience after completing the qualification (post-apprenticeship).
  • Physically fit for the job (including Mines medical screening and checks) or in good health and fit for the role (Mines medical assessments).
  • A valid driver's license, preferably Code C1 or higher.
  • Must provide your own tools and transport or Own tools and transportation are necessary for this role.
  • Should be able to work well with others.
  • Should have excellent customer relations skills and follow the eight values.
  • Must be ready to work on shifts and standby when needed.
  • Comply with the mine and company’s alcohol and drug-free policy.
  • Strong understanding of reading and interpreting drawings.
