Overview:
Komatsu is looking for an experienced Artisan Assistant to join their team in Germiston. The ideal candidate should have at least 6 months of experience in a general workshop or technical setting and a Matric Certificate with technical subjects.
Required Qualifications:
- Grade 12 with technical subjects or Technical N3 certificate is required.
- Other certifications, such as forklift, crane, or welding, are a plus but not required.
Work Experience:
- 6 months of experience in a technical setting or general workshop.
- Basic knowledge of workshop tools and machine repairs is essential for success in this role, ensuring you can effectively contribute to our team's efficiency and productivity.
Knowledge Skills:
- A valid driver's license is an advantage.
- A passion for heavy earthmoving machinery is essential.
- Basic knowledge of the Health and Safety Act (SHE) is required.
- You should be able to read, write, and speak English.
Job Tasks:
- Assembling and disassembling machines and components.

Job Summary:
Komatsu South Africa is looking for a Project Engineer in Procurement to join our Procurement Division at Komatsu Africa Holdings, located in Germiston. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 4 years of experience after graduation.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
- Having a Certificate in Project Management is a plus.
- Candidates with a degree or diploma in Procurement or Supply Chain Management will have an advantage. ( A 2 to 3 Year Diploma )
Required Experience:
- Ideally, candidates should have 2 to 4 years of experience in a Procurement or Supply Chain role, especially in engineering or manufacturing.
- Experience in overseeing strategic supplier relationships.
- Understanding the Government Purchasing Framework is a valuable asset.
- A solid understanding of financial, legal, and corporate social responsibility issues is crucial.
- Understanding the mining and construction environments is advantageous.
Important Knowledge Requirements:

Job Description Overview:
- Work with engineering teams to understand the specifications for materials and relay this information to suppliers.
- Analyze vendor capabilities to ensure they can manufacture goods in line with Komatsu SLQDC specifications, covering process validations and inspection reports.
- Create and implement activities to enhance supplier performance by evaluating their technical skills, providing training, and ensuring they meet compliance standards.
- Oversee product non-conformance issues and drive the identification of root causes while implementing preventive measures.
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers to establish terms and conditions, including pricing, payment arrangements, and delivery timelines for advantageous agreements.
- Seek out potential suppliers and sustain relationships with current ones. Assess and choose suppliers according to a number of factors, such as price, quality, dependability, and compliance.
- Analyze costs and make comparisons to pinpoint the most cost-efficient suppliers and products, all while maintaining high quality standards.\
- Ongoing evaluation of supplier performance is essential, addressing any problems related to quality, timing, or other relevant considerations.
- Keep informed about the latest technical developments, tools, and best practices in mechanical engineering, management, and equipment maintenance.
