AFGRI Farmer Development (AFD) is looking for people to apply for the 2025 Learnership Program:

  • The chosen candidates will work at our Vastfontein Farm in Pretoria North.
This is a 12-month Learnership Program designed to train successful learners in farming with crops and animals. While the program is open to everyone, AFGRI Farmer Development encourages people from historically disadvantaged communities to apply. Successful candidates will receive both on-the-job and off-the-job training at our training farm. Learners will sign a contract with AFD and will work at our Vastfontein Training Farm in Pretoria North for the entire duration of the learnership. Learners will gain comprehensive work experience by completing various tasks and responsibilities related to the program on the farm. They will work with a diverse team to finish the program and help with projects.

Minimum Entry Requirements:

  • Applicants must be South African citizens to qualify for this opportunity.
  • Applicants need to have a Grade 12 certificate or an equivalent qualification.
  • We encourage women and individuals with disabilities to apply, as they will be given priority.
  • Applicants must be currently unemployed to be eligible for this program.

Length of the Program:

  • Successful candidates will sign a 12-month contract with AFGRI Farmer Development and will work at our Vastfontein Farm for the entire program.
